  1. Coenosia tigrina looks close but has a dark stripe on the forehead. Seeing several genuses that might have candidates, so this one's above my pay grade.

    In any case, respect for your focus on diptera. Underdocumented and underappreciated, and a great source for species.

    1. I am attracted to the pretty ones.. and they often have lovely markings, though I know I have only an outside chance of any ID.. Even BugGuide usually ignores them. At one time I think I found a special place there to submit Diptera, but alas I’ve never come across it again. Posted 3 years ago, modified 3 years ago

        Yes, it's in dutch but sometimes it helps me as a launch pad. To get a starting point (family, genus) to then do a deeper more targeted search.
