
"Mastocarpus stellatus," commonly known as carrageenan moss or false Irish moss, is a species in the Rhodophyceae division, a red algae seaweed division, and the Phyllophoracea family. "M. stellatus" is closely related to Irish Moss. It grows in the intertidal zone.
