
Mussel - Mytilus sp.
This is the largest mussel I've ever seen. It was approximately 13 cm long! The periostracum was brownish and shaggy. Flesh was reddish. It was adhered to rocks in the low tide zone. Maybe it isn't a mussel? If it is, I think it's either Mytilius edulis or Modiolus modiolus.
