Mussel - Mytilus sp. This is the largest mussel I&#039;ve ever seen. It was approximately 13 cm long! The periostracum was brownish and shaggy. Flesh was reddish. It was adhered to rocks in the low tide zone. Maybe it isn&#039;t a mussel? If it is, I think it&#039;s either Mytilius edulis or Modiolus modiolus. <br />
