It might be Paris verticillata, but Paris quadrifolia is also possible. It might have initially been planted. Last year, I counted one plant, but yesterday, I noted at least 20 plants.<br />

True Lover's Knot - Paris sp.

Habitat: Mixed forest/bog edge

True Lover's Knot - Paris sp. This is an unusual and rare plant to be growing in upstate New York. I've been consulting experts and the species ID is uncertain so far. It might be Paris verticillata, but Paris quadrifolia is also possible. It might have initially been planted. Last year, I counted one plant, but yesterday, I noted at least 20 plants.<br />

  2. Paris quadrifolia? I don't know if is present in America but is the highes match in my app. Posted 14 days ago
    1. Thanks for checking! It could be Paris verticillata or Paris quadrifolia, or a hybrid, or some other species. It has some characteristics that don't seem to fit either species.
