    That looks like a tasty dinner to me :) If I had to guess it would be Morchella americana, but there's a close lookalike. You could check this out https://www.mushroom-appreciation.com/morel-species.html though I think the exact number of species of morels is kind of in flux right now.... Posted 3 years ago

      It was a shocking find because I rarely find morels. Thanks for the link, it was so helpful! After looking it up, I agree that these could be Morchella americana. I'll add it as a tentative ID. Posted 3 years ago

The White Morel

"Morchella americana" is a species of fungus in the Morchellaceae family native to North America. Described as new to science in 2012, it is common east of the Rocky Mountains in a range stretching from Ontario south to Texas, Arkansas and South Carolina.
