    This pretty much rules out the species.

    1. It doesn't look like a stinkhorn to me. I'm not sure if it's a bolete or gilled mushroom, but suspect gilled (Order Agaricales > Family Amanitaceae). It reminds me of a deformed Amanita sp. mushroom infected with Hypomyces hyalinus, but I don't think that is found in Malaysia. Posted 3 years ago

''Termitomyces heimii'' is a species of agaric fungus in the family Lyophyllaceae. It has symbiotic relationship with termites. Described as new to science in 1979, it is found in India. The specific epithet ''heimii'' honors French mycologist Roger Heim. The fruit bodies produced by the fungus are edible.
