Forest Fire Ants These nocturnal ants swarm the forest floor at night in the thousands or millions and hunt any unlucky preys that are caught in their way. They are called Fire Ants for their powerful sharp stings that hurts like fire and even triggers allergic reactions to some people. There are several species of these Leptogenys fire ants and they are all recognized by their quick swarming march on the forest floor at night. This is one of the things that I am most afraid of when trekking in the forest at night as I have been brutally attacked by them hundreds of times. 1stopborneo,Fall,Geotagged,Malaysia,ants,borneo,entomology,insects,macro,nightwalk,wildlife Click/tap to enlarge Promoted
