Visitor from the north Last week we suffered disgustingly humid weather which came down from a northern cyclone. <br />
Took me a while to ID this slender orb weaver in our garden but there it is - a Silver Northern orb weaver. <br />

Visitor from the north

Last week we suffered disgustingly humid weather which came down from a northern cyclone.
Took me a while to ID this slender orb weaver in our garden but there it is - a Silver Northern orb weaver.
Welcome and I hope you can stand the civilised 'cold'.

"Leucauge dromedaria" is one of the long-jawed orb weaver spiders. A medium to large sized orb weaving spider, with a body length up to 15 mm long. Male to 6 mm. This species has a second pair of "humps" on the abdomen.
