Compsus sp.? Angel Paz, Ecuador Sloppy smartphone photos of this fairly large snout weevil. It has an odd metallic appearance. Largely colorless but shiny with tints of blue/green. Another interesting feature are the appendages on the back of the abdomen. <br />

Based on this observation my guess is that it might be genus Compsus, but far from sure:<br />
