  2. A beautifully captured fungus Karin, but I am not convinced it is the correct species ID.
    Pleurotus nebrodensis is almost snow white, with a large stem and growing on the ground on limestone substrates, in pastures containing "Basiliscu" Cachrys ferulacea. Furthermore, this mushroom only occurs in northern Sicily (Italy), growing in scattered localities in the Madonie mountains from 1,200-2,000m in altitude.

    The one you have posted seems to be growing on a tree. It doesn't have much of a stem and the gills are rather yellowish.
