
Mayfly Nymph - Ameletus ludens
This species seems to "play dead". I have noticed numerous times that if I disturb them at all, they sink to the bottom of the tank and lay sideways. They will stay like this for several minutes before they resume swimming around.
Habitat: Collected from a pond and photographed under a microscope

''Ameletus ludens'' is a species of combmouthed minnow mayfly in the family Ameletidae. It is found in North America.
