
Gold-flecked Woodwax - Hygrophorus chrysodon
These photos were taken one year ago today, which means that I'm a year behind in processing my photos. :-O
White waxy cap that is decorated with yellow flakes. The apex of the stem had yellow flakes aggregated into an imperfect ring zone.
Habitat: Mostly deciduous forest with a few eastern hemlocks (Tsuga canadensis)
