  1. Wow, the tree having peeled bark makes it even less obvious that something is on top of it. Posted 3 years ago
    1. Yes, they only goes for trees with peeled bark. Have not seen any of all the 3 species of Bark Mantis on other trees that are without peeled bark. The posture of Bark Mantis are different from other Praying Mantis, as they tends to lay flatten down, which allows them to hide between the narrow gaps of the peeled bark and the tree trunk. It is possible to look for them during day time if you know which tree to look, just that it is hardly possible to photograph them. And if you peeled or break the peeled barks to expose them, they might moves away to other trees. Posted 3 years ago
