
Wild Turkey (Male/Tom) - Meleagris gallopavo
You can tell that this is a male because of the long snood dangling over his beak. Also, he has a beard (long hairs), and a big wattle (red, dangling thing on the neck)
Habitat: There was a rafter of turkeys hanging out in a grassy spot that was situated between a forest and the coastline.
Fun fact: When excited, their head, wattle, and snood can turn several different colors based on their mood.

The wild turkey is an upland game bird native to North America, one of two extant species of turkey and the heaviest member of the order Galliformes. It is the ancestor to the domestic turkey , which was originally derived from a southern Mexican subspecies of wild turkey .
