Hammerhead Worm (Genus: Bipalium) Bipalium is a genus of large predatory land planarians. They are often loosely called &quot;hammerhead worms&quot; or &quot;broadhead planarians&quot; because of the distinctive shape of their head region. Land planarians are unique in that they possess a &quot;creeping sole&quot;, a highly ciliated region on the ventral epidermis that helps them to creep over the substrate.The name Bipalium comes from Latin bi-, &ldquo;two&rdquo; + pala, &ldquo;shovel&rdquo; or &ldquo;spade&rdquo;, because species in this genus resemble a pickaxe.<br />

  3. There is a page for Genus Bipalium in Wikipedia with 54 Species listed and 5 pages of different Species but the spotted is not seen in those five. I have Requested for manual species creation. More information on this Genus is found on this Video :

    1. Thanks! Unfortunately, we cannot create a species record based on genus, we have to know the exact species. If together we are unable to determine the exact species, it's fine to leave it as-is, and just mention what we do know in the title and description. Posted 3 years ago
