Dark Crimson Underwing, Heesch, Netherlands
Got lucky here. I did two small sessions, two nights in a row. The second night largely produced the same species as the first (given our limited garden habitat) so I quickly lost interest. Just as I was about to end it, this one came along. It was very restless, jumping between the cloth and the grass below.
According to Dutch Wikipedia, this species is very rare in the Netherlands and Belgium. I suspect that information may be somewhat outdated.

''Catocala sponsa'', the dark crimson underwing, is a species of moth of the family Erebidae. It is found in Europe, North Africa and from Anatolia up to the Caucasus.

We get dark very late here. Sunset isn't until 9 and it's not truly dark until at least 10pm. I tried lighting up a sheet the other night and didn't attract anything before I needed to go to bed. Posted 4 years ago, modified 4 years ago
