Moth (Family: Crambidae)

A moth in our lawn from the family Crambidae (Crambid Snout Moths). This species was a bit difficult to photograph as they only sat on blades of grass upside down and were very skittish. I initially intended to get a lot of moth photos for Moth Week but I'm rarely seeing moths these days.

Do you have an outdoor light you can turn on at night to attract them? It is definitely very difficult to photograph or find moths in the wild during daylight hours! Posted 4 years ago

  I do have an outdoor light actually but unfortunately the house geckos eat them before I can get to them lol. I was thinking about actually making a moth trap on the lawn though! Posted 4 years ago
