    1. I'm sorry to disappoint you, but it looks like a Purple-barred Yellow (Lythria cruentaria) to me.

        1. The stripes are different. The antennae of Pyrausta sanguinalis seem to be pointing downwards, which is strange. Also it's hindwings are rather brownish, not yellow. There are probably more differences since they belong to different genera from different families - Crambidae and Geometridae. Posted 12 years ago, modified 12 years ago

''Lythria cruentaria'' is a moth of the family Geometridae. The species can be found in Europe.

The length of the forewings is 9–13 mm. The moths fly in two or three generations from the end of April to the end of September. The caterpillars feed on sorrel and sheep's sorrel.
