  1. You getting some amazing results with your nothing photography. I am not ready yet but want to do the same ,like you and Christine. Posted 4 years ago
    1. Thank you!

I'm still learning, and I don't even have an optimized setup. I need a mercury vapor bulb, but they are pretty expensive! Jason (my partner) just a few days ago built me a really nice setup that can be moved around outside, so I'm having a blast with it already.

Christine and I both started by looking at moths around our porch lights, and I highly recommend this practice if you are intimidated by creating a setup! You can get some amazing results just by turning on your outdoor light for a few hours. If you need any ideas or help with getting started, we are always here to answer your questions. Ferdy probably has a lot of input on the subject too!

10th Annual Moth Week starts soon (July 17-25, 2021), and we would love to see you participate!

  2. This is one odd genus. I was all proud of myself for coming up with the full match "Halysidota tessellaris" and only then saw that every other moth in the genus looks identical down to the tiniest of details. Posted 4 years ago
