  1. That's so fantastic! Is this a skep? Does he use anything to attract the bees, like specific flowers or herbs? Posted one month ago
    1. Christine, I am not sure what skep is, but these are handmade hives, they are made of fresh branches (not sure what wood) and woven into the shape you see in the photo. These are not in use in modern times as it is difficult to harvest honey without hurting the bee family. Posted one month ago

The Carniolan honey bee is a subspecies of the western honey bee. The Carniolan honey bee is native to Slovenia and to some others regions of the former Yugoslavia, southern Austria, and parts of Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria.
