  1. Nah, that should be a Click beetle (Elateridae) - do you maybe have better close-up of tail end and head? Posted 4 years ago
    1. Shoot! I went back and forth between click and darkling beetle larvae and settled on the wrong one, lol. I'll upload a head shot, but it's not very good. Posted 4 years ago
      1. Thanks so much for your help, Arp. I always appreciate it. :)

        1. Should be a Melanotus sp.
Stunning amount of species in that genus for the northern Americas :-/ (we only have 2 in the Netherlands).
I doubt very much that there will be a comprehensive key for the larvae of the American species ...

P.S. I see that even the adults in your area are a bit problematic ;o)

          1. I was JUST about to come in and suggest Elateridae (very distinctive larvae) but I got sidetracked last night! :D Posted 4 years ago, modified 4 years ago
          2. @Arp, They are so hard to ID that I generally ignore the adults when I see them, lol. Thanks again for your help :).

@Lisa, no worries! Arp was on the case ;). But, the more help, the merrier!

            1. @ Arp, do you think this is Conoderus lividus?
