  1. Interesting bug Ernst - nice colours/patterns and with the very narrow tip of the scutellum you would half expect it to be recognizable between others, but I had no luck on a quick first glance.
While looking at the Halyini, genus Poecilometis with somewhat similar looking bugs (rather large genus) I did find the one in the link below, but that one is as yet unidentified too, so probably Poecilometis is barking up the wrong tree too (but at least I was not alone in that ;o)

Needs more looking into I´m afraid ...

  2. I continue to believe that our first nations people took their art inspiration from nature. Great shot Posted 4 years ago

    1. Thanks Ruth. I am not sure what is more difficult ,some of the bugs or spiders. I am glad Pudding 4 brains knows a heck of a lot more then me. ( I will one day remember Pudding4brains ‚s real name.) Posted 4 years ago

No wonder I couldn´t find a close enough match in the Pentatomidae *rolleyes*
Yes, yes ... Acanthosomatidae and indeed probably genus Amphaces ... duh, sigh ... quite different in habitus from our European Acanthosomatidae. May spend some time later to see if we can take it to species ...
    Cheers, Arp
