Bastard Caterpillar - Cimbex femoratus
It took me forever to plow through caterpillars, butterflies and moths to find a match for this one. Turns out I was looking in the wrong direction. This is not a caterpillar, it is the larvae of a sawfly. Which one is hard to determine, yet the closest visual match I can find is the Cimbex femoratus.
The term Bastard Caterpillar is a term used to highlight the similarities with caterpillars.
