Caddisfly Larva - Family Phryganeidae This larva was quite large. I didn&#039;t remove it from the case, but would guess it to be around 40 mm long.  It had an orange head with dark brown stripes. Its case was made of leaf fragments that had been cut and stacked like rings.<br />

    1. It is a really impressive case! I found several others in this pond just like it. They cut and paste the leaves so perfectly.

      I am hoping to get an ID for this specimen, so I'm going to take some more shots of it today before returning it to the pond this afternoon.
