Broad-bodied Chaser (Male)
Male broad-bodied chaser. The males are colored bright blue while the females are yellow/green.
This chaser was sitting on the other side of a ditch (like they always do...) which was filled with 10cm high water. I had to stand in the water to be able to get close enough and take this photo (I had my sandals on which I was planning to clean anyway).
Dutch name: Platbuik (Libellula Depressa)

"Libellula depressa", the broad-bodied chaser or broad-bodied darter, is one of the most common dragonflies in Europe and central Asia. It is very distinctive with a very broad flattened abdomen, four wing patches and, in the male, the abdomen becomes pruinose blue.
