  1. I am just back from my holiday in Spain where I also did some macro photography. This is among the best picture I made that week. I had to climb a steep wall for a few meters to get close enough, I just couldn't stand watching this beauty only from a distance. Posted 12 years ago, modified 12 years ago
    1. Great capture! Although, is a juvenil male that still not yet has develop pruinosis on the abdomen.

"Libellula depressa", the broad-bodied chaser or broad-bodied darter, is one of the most common dragonflies in Europe and central Asia. It is very distinctive with a very broad flattened abdomen, four wing patches and, in the male, the abdomen becomes pruinose blue.
