  1. Very pretty and so hard to ID! I think it could be Ideopsis sp...Ideopsis juventa looks close. But, there are also species of Parantica and Tirumala that look similar. Posted one month ago
    1. Tricky indeed. Statistically, my vote would go for Ideopsis vulgaris.
Why? Because on > 70% of photos of that species, it's on the same plant as in the above photo.

However, it's not conclusive evidence, other similar looking species may attend the same flower. So....I don't know.

      1. I agree, except that the pattern doesn't appear to match. Posted one month ago
        1. Haha! Ferdy, I was thinking of literally the same flower as a posing spot ;-D
I will keep checking, I hope I can find it at some point! I will also check on Ernst suggestions below. Many thanks to both of you for your help! :-)

Hey, it looks a lot like this one: https://www.flickr.com/photos/still-air/37650368731
I would have to rely on the Flickr users having the right ID. I will check if I can see more of this ssp to see if it is really the one

          1. Definitely looks visually similar, yet the user self admits they just searched Flickr and guessed. Could be a correct guess, of course. Posted one month ago
        2. So you *don't* agree :) Posted one month ago
          1. Nope. I only agree that the flower appears popular among butterflies. Posted one month ago
  2. Check out genus Tirumala ( Brush footed butterflies)Blue tigers distribution Australia and South East Asia Posted one month ago, modified one month ago
    1. I will check, many thanks! Posted one month ago
