Casebearer or Bagworm Moth Larvae & Pupa? Casebearer moth or bagworm moth of some sort? Empty pupa nearby. These were found below loblolly pine bark in a moist forest understory. The cases almost looked exactly like Juniperus leaves/needles, and I almost overlooked them (but there were no Juniperus trees in the immediate vicinity)!
1. Complicated scene :) Posted 4 years ago
    1. These were under that same piece of bark:
Melanotus communis-complex Click beetles huddled under Loblolly Pine (Pinus taeda) bark (at the base of a live tree). In a dense mixed forest understory.
