Genea sp. I found these hollow, amorphous fungi found under a log, in soil (and surrounded by mycelia). At a dense mixed forest edge, under mostly hickory and oak trees. Gordon County, GA, US. January 20, 2021. This was a cluster of two that easily popped apart into two pieces in my hands. They were quite fuzzy!<br /> <br /> If I can relocate them, I&#039;m sending these off for sequencing and study at the University of Florida!
