White-tailed Deer (Odocoileus virginianus) Rub
At a dense mixed forest edge. Signs of the rutting season.
A male deer will initially rub his antlers and forehead on shrubs and small trees like this one in order to deposit his scent (with the preorbital gland or mouth). Following this initial rub, multiple does and bucks will use this same rub up until the rutting season peaks. This behavior usually occurs at night.
