    1. From the little that I know about (these) flies I gather these feed on decaying litter and more specifically on spores of fungi in it and the like ... (?)
      A few of these were crawling around on the underside of a big, half rotten beam laying on a patch of grass. Plenty of decay and fungi going on there I suppose.
