World's Smallest Bird-of-Prey The Bornean Falconet a.k.a. White-fronted falconet is the world&#039;s smallest species among the birds of prey. It is endemic only to North Borneo. Of course another holder to this title is its cousin species, the Black-thighed Falconet which is found in Borneo as well. This was was just above us in the forest watching at us releasing a huge rescued reticulated python.<br />

  1. It does seem very interested in your activities. I suppose the python would be too big of a meal? Posted 4 years ago
    1. Indeed the python is just too big for it but it still managed to get its attention. Maybe as a precautionary instinct. Animals like macaques do tend to cause a lot of noise whenever they see pythons. Posted 4 years ago
  2. The rescued python it was eyeing at:

Rescued python Releasing this giant python rescued from someone's house. Quite old, about 3-4 meters long and 25-30kg. Looks a bit wounded and weak at first, but recovered and moved into the forest after getting some sunlight and water. If you are wondering how to identify the size of a python in photos, check the eyes. The smaller the eyes you see on the python means that the snake is larger, because the eyes don't change size but rather the snake head grows, making the eyes look smaller in comparison. <br />

My NGO (1StopBorneo Wildlife) has done lots of wildlife rescues and this python is definitely one of the largest we have gotten! Fall,Geotagged,Malaysia,Python reticulatus,Reticulated python
