Phidippus putnami babies I haven&#039;t seen Mama spider around, but the babies seem to be doing well. They have molted at least once (look within the nest for evidence). Can you spot all of the cuties in this photo?<br />

  1. Love this! They are such cuties!! I wonder how long until they will leave the nest. Posted 4 years ago
    1. I'm wondering that too. I've heard that they can withstand cooler temperatures, but I'm still worried about these cold nights! I wonder if there is a better (less exposed) place that I can put them for the winter? Posted 4 years ago

        1. I would think that the mom has died, no? Posted 4 years ago
      2. Thank you for the update, Lisa :) A photo really worth zooming in to. My favorite is the most left one. Didn't realize they already look like adults in such early stage.

Perhaps keeping them out of wind and not in direct contact with the floor would be enough.

        1. That is a good idea. I might build a little "pocket' on the side of the camper to put the bag in (the one in which they are nesting). Posted 4 years ago
          1. That would be great, if not for the great response you can give when somebody asks...

"Why do you have a bag attached to the outside of your camper?"
            > "It's my jumping spider shelter bag, what else would it be. Such a stupid *** question to ask!!"

That's what I would do, I plan my jokes months ahead of time.
