Phidippus putnami Mommy With the pandemic, my husband and I have been leaving items we have purchased on our front porch for a few days. I left a dog treat pouch on the top of our outdoor refrigerator for around a week, and went to retrieve it this afternoon. My hand immediately felt a patch of spider silk on the interior of the bag, and I decided to take a closer look. Mama spider was seemingly guarding her spiderlings.       Thank you so much! I just got a likely ID (Phidippus comatus). Seems she is actually a little malnourished due to guarding her babies, so I'm being directed on leaving her some droplets of water and some food (waiting for feedback on this part). She's pretty big, yes! Posted 4 years ago
