This bird had been taunting us the entire Madagascar trip. It's one of the most beautiful birds of Madagascar, yet quite shy and quick to hide behind thick vegetation. This time this male (recognizable by the long white tail partially visible here) wasn't ready for my 500mm in the Kirindi forest.

The Malagasy paradise flycatcher is a species of bird in the Monarchidae family. It is found in Comoros, Madagascar, and Mayotte. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests and subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests.
