      I agree about Hydriomena being a good guess. If you use your imagination and ignore the color, you can see similar markings on this one:

      1. Interesting! A long way from home? Incredible co-evolution?

        Agreed that markings on that Hydriomena are similar, so hope and think we're in the right genus. But when focusing only on the black marks, Peter's moth seems to have bigger, wider, and darker marks. I'm not sure if this is variability, a pristine individual, etc.

        1. Definitely weird, and it makes me wonder if there is a similar SA genus. I agree about the Hydriomena and the similarities and differences. It's probably our best guess for now. Posted 4 years ago
