  1. Just thinking about how you had to make that shot gives me the shivers. Posted 5 years ago
    1. oooh..is not that bad, I can think of worse things. But I have had sea urchin spines getting stuck in my knees, arms etc while diving and when it happens better leave it there..it will dissolve over time and is impossible to take it out..it breaks in many pieces when you try. Of course I have been very careful with the real bad ones, for example this one is an absolute no-no:
Flower Urchin (Toxopneustes pileolus) - a pretty Touch-me-not! Monument, Lembeh. Night dive.<br />
If you have to be afraid of some night critter of the sea do not be of the poor moray eels but of this innocent-looking sea urchin. Is one of the most dangerous critters you can find in Lembeh, inflicting extremely painful stings. It can even be deadly. Flower urchin,Geotagged,Indonesia,Spring,Toxopneustes pileolus

      1. We once did some snorkling in Malaysia in pretty shallow water, whilst the urchins were sky high. So as you swim, you constantly worried about them touching you.

That said, it was beautiful, like a new world opening.

What does that bad one do? Or just don't step into it?

          1. I will take that advise, which is easy enough for me to do. Posted 5 years ago
