![Gould's Wild Turkey or Meleagris gallopavo mexicana Gould’s wild turkeys (Meleagris gallopavo mexicana), the largest subspecies of the North American wild turkey. These birds are native to the Sky Island mountain ranges of southeastern Arizona and northern Mexico.
By the early 1900s, the turkeys had been extirpated from the region due to overhunting and habitat loss.
