The Retz's helmetshrike is a species of bird in the helmetshrike family Prionopidae, formerly usually included in the Malaconotidae. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests, subtropical or tropical mangrove forests, and subtropical or tropical moist shrubland.

Distribution
