Appearance
The adult is dark blue with orange spots on thorax and blue coloured abdomen. The head and long antenna are dark blue as are the wings.The larvae have broad, black heads with white spots; body tapers to an extended thin whip-like tail. Colour varies with development and moulting but is usually translucent green with some tints of yellow or orange. Tiny black spots merge to become the all-black tail. Length will grow from 12mm to 24mm.

Behavior
