Appearance

Evenus regalis is a small butterfly with antennae and legs ringed in white, with two thin tails on each hind wing, one longer than the other. The upper side is metallic blue finely edged in black with a large red ocellus in the anal position. The underside of the forewings is green, adorned with a brown postdiscal line. The hind wings are green with a brown postdiscal line lined with a wide red band with a brown ocellus dotted with red in the anal position.
