Paltothyreus

''Paltothyreus'' is a monotypic genus of ants in the subfamily Ponerinae. ''Paltothyreus tarsatus'', the single described species, is widely distributed in Sub-Saharan Africa. Workers are very large in size ; queens are similar to workers, but larger and winged.
