The Short-eared Elephant Shrew is the only species in its genus, but is still grouped with the soft-furred elephant shrews.

Habitat

Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry shrubland, subtropical or tropical dry lowland grassland, and hot deserts. Their gestation period is 56 days.

Reproduction
