Naming

The species name ''formicaria'' means "ant-like" in Latin.
Wait a minute! Thought I'd spotted a previously unknown (to me) ant species. Upon closer inspection and noticing there were 2 legs more than there should be, I identified it as a cheeky spider!

Apologies for the quality, the wind was quite strong and this spider was very skittish and didn't want to be seen. Geotagged,Greece,Myrmarachne formicaria,Summer

Distribution

''M. formicaria'' has a palearctic distribution, and has been introduced to the USA.
