Arachnothryx leucophylla is often planted as an ornamental shrub. Its pink flowers produce a sweet fragrance in the evening, hence its name Huele de noche (fragrant at night) in Mexico.

Appearance

Evergreen shrub, 3 to 10 feet tall (1-3 m). The leaves are opposite sessile, ovate to oblong with wavy margins, 2 inches (5 cm) long, with a white downy pubescence beneath.
Flowers tubular, pink, the tube is externally pubescent. The fruit is a small capsule with numerous seeds.
