Appearance
The stipules at the base of the leaves are very small, lanceolate-pointed, bristle-like. The leaves have three almost hairless leaflets, shaped from obovate to triangular, with finely toothed margins. There are 4–8 flowers grouped on a long, distinct stalk 2–5 cm in length. The flowers face sideways and eventually downward, forming a sparse inflorescence topped with a short, prominent awn. The calyx is bell-shaped with pointed teeth as long as the calyx tube. The corolla is bright yellow, 6–7 mm long. The pods are falcate, somewhat swollen and constricted between 2–5 seeds, 10–25 mm long, tapering at the tip into a seedless beak. The seeds are ovoid and tuberculate.References:
