Podochilus microphyllus is a small leafed orchid in the Orchidaceae family. Small sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte with a pendant, thin, freely branching stems enveloped completely by leaf-bearing sheaths and carrying many, 2 ranked, oblong, apiculate green to reddish leaves that blooms in the winter through late spring on a terminal, sometimes lateral, thin, fractiflex, to 0.4" [1 cm] long, 2 to 6 flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acute floral bracts and small flowers.

Distribution

Found in Cambodia, Myanmar, Nicobar Islands, Thailand, Vietnam, Borneo, Java, Malaysia and Sumatra in shady forests in lowlands at elevations of 60 to 1400 meters.
