Cerastium decalvans subsp. leontopodium is an accepted subspecies of C.decalvans, native to the Balkan Peninsula. It is a subshrub and grows primarily in the temperate biome. The members of the genus Cerastium are commonly called Mouse-ear chickweed.

Habitat

It grows in grasslands on rocky slopes, pine forests, in extensively grazed pastures, and similar habitats. On calcareous soils (on limestones, dolomites, serpentinites), in 1000–2000(–2500) a. s. l.
