Vuylstekeara Cambria Hybrid Orchid

Oncidopsis cambria

It is a hybrid that was created in a lab in 1911 by Charles Vuylsteke.
The Vuylstekeara/Oncidopsis was produced from several other Orchid Alliances, namely Odontoglossum, Cochlioda, Miltonia, Oncidium and Brassia.

Appearance

It is an evergreen, epyphitic orchid with elongated pseudobulbs producing strap-like, dark green leaves and, about twice a year, long, rigid stems bearing racemes of white flowers, heavily spotted and barred with red to reddish-pink markings. Sepals and petals have red patches. Lip is pink with a magenta spot in the center.

Distribution

Worldwide as ornamental. Not found in nature.
