Geum magellanicum is a species of perennial herb in the family Rosaceae.

Appearance

Numerous bright red or sometimes yellow flowers, open on many stems above bright green thick leathery leaved rosettes. Rhizomatous perennial, occasionally spreading by stolons, with a basal rosette of pinnately lobed leaves and saucer-shaped flowers in loose clusters.

Distribution

Native from South America (Patagonia).

Habitat

The plant grows in water or it has its roots within a permanent water course. This corresponds to marshes, bogs, water courses, lake and river shores.
